MEDICAL MYSTERY: THEY DO NOT GO IN UNLESS THEY ARE DYING

THEY DO NOT GO IN UNLESS THEY ARE DYING

FLESH-EATING DISEASE

Invasive Group A Strep cases are rising, but the reason is a medical mystery.
Group A streptococcus, a common cause of flesh-eating disease, has been on the rise.
It can literally happen to anybody!

IT’S A SURGICAL EMERGENCY

The disease is caused by several bacteria and can be fatal if it’s not dealt with quickly. The immune system is seriously compromised. Seriously ill patients may require limb amputation to control the spread.

It often starts with the infection of a small cut or bug bite, but a break in the skin isn’t always necessary.

Sometimes it’s as minor as a paper cut or a prick from a rosebush, sometimes it can be blunt trauma like a bruise or a compression injury.

The infection causes swelling, and fluid accumulation, which leads very quickly to tissue death- gangrene.

A doctor prescribes anti-inflammatories and painkillers. Testing does not turn up signs of an infection. Within a few days, the pain becomes more severe.

It’s a surgical emergency. It’s not enough when it gets to that stage to treat the patient with antibiotics.

The infection is in the blood which means it could spread to any part of the body. No one knows when and which part of the body the infection will attack next.

Doctors tell the patient it’s a long process, a long recovery, and no one knows if they will ever get rid of Group A Strep infection-this flesh-eating disease.

This is all emotionally over-whelming for both the patients and their loved-ones.
Enhancing the immune system for both patient and loved one is crucial now, if there is any hope to recover from this horrible situation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

THE PRICE WE PAY

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]THE PRICE WE PAY

The price we pay for the affluence and plenty of contemporary life is a constant barrage of potentially dangerous chemicals in the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe.

Our modern pace of life, with tremendous stress and pressure, and lack of time for peaceful reflection leaves us all in less than optimal state of health.

PEOPLE EXPECT TOO MUCH FROM MODERN MEDICINE

Although modern medicine has provided numerous breakthroughs in the treatment of illness, it also led to a change in the amount of personal responsibility that people take for their own health.

The term Modern Medicine cannot be interchanged with the term ‘health’. Health cannot be bought at any price. Billions of dollars are spent in the treatment of diseases: many of which can be prevented by maintaining good health.

Years of life are lost, sometimes horrific suffering is endured because health and well-being is too much to consider.

Attention to lifestyle and environment offers the most rewarding path to improved levels of health. It is the only way to reduce the staggering cost of the burden of medicine and the best way to reduce the chances of premature aging and unnecessary suffering from degenerative diseases.

Always listen to what your body is telling you and don’t be afraid to question your doctors “opinions and diagnosis”. After all they are practicing medicine and many times they get it wrong. They’re overwhelmed with too many patients and have been trained to believe in the power of pharmaceutical drugs.

Take as few drugs as possible. The list of side effects on a simple aspirin alone is staggering. If you are taking even a few or more pharmaceutical drugs, there is no way anyone can tell you what they combine into inside the human body AND everyone’s body is different!

A state of high-level wellness is within the reach of all of us. A wellness lifestyle will not only drastically reduce your risk of illness and disease: it will provide for you a life of greater satisfaction, increased serenity, and an expanded interest in the future.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

THE BIG ONE IS COMING!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]THE BIG ONE IS COMING!

It could take just one cough, one kiss, one touch or even one bite of food, or a sip of water to change not only your life, but the lives of everyone around you- and for months or even years. In most cases, the closer those people are to you, the greater the risk.

The risk at hand: an infectious outbreak.

Infectious disease respects no boundaries. With infections disregarding borders and their battle lines against humans drawn, experts believe the way we live today is what opens us up to risk.

You live, eat, work and move closer to people, and with this comes greater opportunity for disease to spread through polluted air, mosquitos or unclean water.

The world is getting more and more crowded. Our skyrocketing population makes us more at risk for spreading deadly epidemics amongst ourselves.

More people in cities can put a strain on sanitation. This can be a source of infection.
Increased food demand, causing farmers to grow more food, with more animals, making them likely to live closer to animals.

Animals are reservoirs for many diseases, including cattle for tuberculosis, and poultry for avian flu.

With people moving more regularly from and between rural settings to urban ones the chances of them becoming infected and then living in close quarters with others further boosts the potential for infections to spread.

Experts are unanimous in the belief that the next outbreak will most likely be a surprise- and we need to be ready.

IF YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IS COMPROMISED, YOUR CHANCES OF SURVIVING A PANDEMIC FLU, IS SERIOUSLY THREATENED.

MASSIVE CROWDS IN LIMITED SPACES: HAJJ AND OTHER RELIGIOUS PILGRIMAGES

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]MASSIVE CROWDS IN LIMITED SPACES: HAJJ AND OTHER RELIGIOUS PILGRIMAGES

The Hajj is an extraordinary complex logistical undertaking.

The Hajj represents not only an enormous number of people, but also extraordinary diversity of age, income, underlying healthfulness, illness and geographic origin.

The heat can be brutal, and the crowds are tightly packed.

Disease is likely to spread, and it has at such massive gatherings.

Everything from minor respiratory infections to polio.

Dehydration, exhaustion, close quarters, shared food, razors and skin to skin contact, all open the door to disease transmission.

There have been outbreaks of Meningococcal disease, gastrointestinal illnesses, pneumonia and flus. Genomic evidence shows that mosquito-borne dengue virus has been imported into Saudi Arabia multiple times over decades.

MERS, a respiratory illness with a high mortality rate was found in Saudi Arabia in 2012. Because of the millions who come to Hajj and related pilgrimages, Saudi Arabia is a “mixing bowl for emerging infections”.

It is also sandwiched between conflict zones Syria, Iraq and Yemen, where diseases are surging as civil infrastructure breaks down.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

LOOMING ON THE HORIZON

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

LOOMING ON THE HORIZON

Pandemic influenza looms on the horizon, and society finds itself poorly equipped to deal with the horrific threats this poses.

Influenza viruses are ubiquitous, they have been around for hundreds of years and are likely to remain with us for a long time.

They produce significant annual morbidity and mortality throughout the world, and the occasional pandemic with potentially devastating consequences for human and animal and the global economy.

The highest burden of disease affecting the very young, the very old, and the people with coexisting medical conditions.

The classic symptoms of human influenza include cough, malaise and fever, often accompanied by sore throat, nasal obstruction, and sputum production, which resolve spontaneously in most healthy individuals, although immune compromised and elderly individuals tend to be more vulnerable.

Complications may include bronchitis and pneumonia, and exacerbation of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Influenza A virus poses a continuing threat to the health of humans and farmed animals, and predictions of impending pandemics are commonplace.

We are stockpiling vaccines and antiviral drugs for the anticipated crisis but there is real concern that they will be in short supply and ineffective in a pandemic.

Currently, life support in the form of respirators and intravenous fluids remains the primary treatment for patients with avian influenza. However, there may be an insufficient number of respirators available and we lack the facilities, drugs, and personnel to care for a sharp upsurge in patients needing intensive treatment. For most individuals, little to no conventional treatment will be available in a fast-moving epidemic.

Thus, there is a great need for alternative ways to cope with severe influenza.

Patients suffering from influenza were treated successfully with herbs in earlier pandemics.

These physicians’ herbal treatments reportedly alleviated the painful symptoms of the 1918 influenza and prevented pulmonary complications and death in many of the patients.

Certain herbal extracts in combination, rich in polyphenols could play an important role in controlling influenza virus outbreaks and alleviating symptoms of the disease.

One of the attractions of herbal treatment is the broad spectrum of potential viral targets, since components of these herbs can interact with different viral proteins and are not constrained by viral strain differences, and drug-resistant mutations; consequently, any influenza virus is susceptible.

In addition, these extracts in combination have anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-oxidant properties, all of which would be beneficial during influenza infection.

Herbs have long been used to treat influenza, a disease that has afflicted humans for millennia. They are highly useful in seasonal influenza, appear to have been very successful in past pandemics, and are likely to prove critical for treating patients who develop influenza when the next pandemic arrives.

WELLPOINT NUTRACEUTICALS: HERBS + INFLUENZA

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]WELLPOINT NUTRACEUTICALS: HERBS + INFLUENZA

Herb therapies for influenza are not specific for the viral strain.

Herb therapy applied to address the first signs of influenza, might prevent the infection from developing into full symptomatic disease.

Instead, they may have general actions that work to help boost the immune system to help eliminate the virus faster.

At high enough dosage they may have direct (but general) inhibitory effects on viral reproduction, and they may simply ameliorate some of the symptoms, thus making a serious infection seem mild.

There is not one herb that is known to be a reliable treatment for flu; rather, there are a collection of herbal extracts and formulas that work synergistically to alleviate the symptoms and enhance the immune system.
